The Garvey School admission process is designed to allow the applicant and the School to develop clear appraisals of each other. Following the initial inquiry, applicants are encouraged to spend a morning at the School. During this visit, applicants and their parents will have the opportunity to visit classes and meet with the staff. Standardized tests are not required for admission.
The following are required:
a completed application and application fee
reading and writing assessment
official school transcript
two teacher recommendations (Grades 1-8 only)
a child interview
a parent interview
a 30 minute class visit
Once the admissions office has had the opportunity to evaluate an applicant's academic potential, special support needs and citizenship, students may be admitted.
